Deceleration - Fuel Enleanment When reducing throttle, the decrease in manifold pressure causes fuel that has condensed on the walls of the intake manifold to evaporate and be ingested by the engine. This can result in a temporary rich trend in AFR and to counteract that, the ECU will reduce injector pulsewidth temporarily and then gradually return to steady state fueling.
This function is similar to 'Acceleration - Fuel Enrichment' but is used during decelerations instead. Fuel Enleanment - Deactivation Factor This table is used to slowly decay the applied 'Fuel Enleanment - Negative Throttle' and takes place over the duration set by the 'Duration' table. Deceleration - Ignition Retard These tables are used in collaboration with the 'Deceleration - Fuel Enleanment' tables to retard ignition timing and prevent engine acceleration when shifting.
This condition may also be referenced as 'rev hang' and can be tuned to the driver's preference. Some prefer the Engine Speed to come down quickly to enable fast shifts while others may prefer a more gradual engine deceleration.
Ignition Retard - Negative Throttle Ignition Timing is gradually reduced by this table when throttle is slowly reduced but not closed. Once the full amount of Ignition Retard is applied the fuel injectors may be shut off depending if Engine Speed is above another threshold or not.
A larger 'step size' will result in a faster change to applied Ignition Timing. Ignition Retard - Fast Negative Throttle Closed Ignition Timing is immediately reduced by this table without any gradual steps when throttle is quickly closed and the fuel injectors are shut off. This table does not get used if Fast Negative Throttle Detection is disabled.
To disable fuel cut during deceleration with the throttle closed, increase this table as high as you want. This table is used when the Air Conditioning Compressor is on. Whether they are cut immediately or after Ignition Timing is slowly retarded depends on if Fast Negative Throttle is detected. Additionally, Engine Speed must be greater than the "Intercept" threshold and the Derivative component of Idle Speed Regulation must be 0 for fuel injectors to be shut off.
This table is used while the "Delay Counter" is not 0. This is to prevent the fuel injectors from turning on and off continuously. This table is used once the "Delay Counter" has decremented to 0. Fuel Cut - Delay Counter Hysteresis Selection This table is initialized when fuel injectors are shut off and decremented every engine revolution when not in 'fuel cut' mode.

OpenMS41 is under active development! One downside of RomRaider for us Bimmer fans is that so far there hasn't been an actual tuning forum for it yet. Currently there is only a "developing the definitions and reverse engineering the software" forum paraphrasing the purpose of the forumso it can be a little difficult for a person to come up with all of the necessary information to setup RomRaider and start using it to tune his or her Bimmer.

I wanted to throw this out there and get some input. Some of you may know, it is an absolute bitch to find information on how to get the software needed to tune this car. But the maps aren't defined. I have spent countless hours pouring through the internet trying to find a viable option.
None exist. I was hoping the RomRaider community would help me get there. There are some brilliant people in here who know a lot more than me about stuff like this. Maybe they'll want to contribute. Anyway, I wanted a home where I can document the progress I've made on this and I'd like to make this thread on RomRaider my home. Does anyone here have a to BMW E36? I'll start this thread off by listing some basics.
There are 3 things you need to be able to tune this car. Galleto clone also apparently works just the same. Map definitions - I've made some decent progress on it. I have defined them in the freeware program tuner software v5. I've also created a RomRaider definition file.
Checksum calculations - There is some software available in the dark corners of the internet that can supposedly do this. Or you can upload it to BimTuner's site which will correct them for you. Any details on the hardware? Primarily, the ecu manufacturer and chip it is using.

Interestingly, a lot of the maps in the 24KB portion are written as if only the data portion exists. And since everything in stored as either 8 bit or 16bit LoHi, that translates to addresses x08B0 and x Now if you go to x in the 24KB file, you'll see the number Following that, you'll see 16 values that describe the axis data points for any map in the car that references that pointer.
This is so cool! I will be following this thread with great interest although this is way beyond my present knowledge. I know some people that have tuned and turbod M3E36's but I think they all went aftermarket ems such as Autronic which is really popular here in Sweden.
